QuickReef® Shoreline Habitat Units (SHUs™) are a smaller version of our original patented offshore sill arrangement. SHUs™ are a modular, DIY- friendly living shoreline material that attenuates wave energy while also providing habitat for both motile and sessile fauna – ideal for lower energy environments where castles or shell bags would typically be used.
Available in 15″ and 21″ high configurations, SHUs™ can be installed by marine contractors, DIY landowners, or volunteer groups. Base units can be deployed by contractors to provide more energy resilience and in softer soils to distribute the weight of the structure.
